Check the passport validity rule for your nationality and visa type. If your passport expires soon, renew it before applying for a visa or K-ETA.
Confirm whether you need a visa, K-ETA, or visa-free entry. For long-term stays, apply for the right status (D-2, D-4, E-7, H-1, etc.) through the official embassy or visa portal.
Book initial accommodation for the first 1–2 weeks while you inspect neighborhoods and find longer-term housing.
Purchase a Korea eSIM before you leave so you have data connectivity the moment you land.
Ensure you have valid health coverage until you enroll in Korean National Health Insurance.
Have enough funds accessible: initial deposit (보증금), first month rent, living expenses for 2–3 months.
Prepare originals and copies of key documents such as passport, visa documents, housing proof, photos, bank statements, and apostilled certificates if your visa or school requires them.
