Experience
This is a settlykorea operations-team reference answer, not a submitted customer story. A practical sequence is to use eSIM or roaming for arrival data, then move to a Korean prepaid SIM or registered plan if you need calls, SMS, banking, delivery, or app verification. Data-only products are convenient, but they usually do not solve every identity-check problem. Before paying, ask whether the plan supports voice calls, SMS, account ownership under your own name, recharge, refund, and updates after Residence Card issuance. If app verification fails, the issue is often a mismatch between telecom, bank, and Residence Card records. Do not share phone numbers, OTP codes, account IDs, passport numbers, or screenshots with private information. Provider policies change, so confirm directly with the provider before choosing a plan.
